Espressivo

Espressivo is the classical music festival of the Music Academy of the University of Montenegro in Cetinje, a tradition of roughly fourteen years. The 2024 edition ran from 26 November to 4 December, filling late autumn in the old capital with concert evenings.

The repertoire stretches from the Baroque to contemporary music, performed by the Academy's professors, international guest artists and the finest young musicians coming up through the school. That mix is the festival's signature: seasoned performers and rising talent share the same series, often the same evening.

Concerts take place in the Ministry of Culture's Multimedia Hall, an intimate setting suited to chamber music where listeners sit close to the performers. For Cetinje — a town whose identity is bound to Montenegrin culture — Espressivo is the flagship classical event of the year, and for visitors it is a chance to hear serious music-making in the country's historic capital.

All concerts are free of charge, in the spirit of an academy sharing its art with its town.
