Kastel Lastva Fortress

The Venetian fortress from the 15th century dominates the harbour and town, and today is one of Petrovac‘s main symbols. Built when the Venetians controlled the coast, it served as a defensive stronghold and warehouse. A few stone steps take you to the top in about ten minutes, where a panoramic view opens up over both islets, Lučice Bay and the entire bay as far as Sveti Stefan. Admission is free.

2nd-century Roman Mosaics

Hidden in a pine forest above the church of St. Elijah, the remains of a floor mosaic from the Roman period testify to continuous settlement here since ancient times. The uphill path to the site has no signposts, so hiring a local guide is recommended. This location is not a typical tourist attraction, making it especially interesting for lovers of history and archaeology.

Although uninhabited, they can be reached by kayak or pedalo for those seeking a more active water holiday. The islets are a perfect backdrop for photography, especially at sunset when they, together with the fortress, create a unique and memorable scene.
