A long, natural sandy beach of distinctive reddish sand stretches the entire length of the promenade and is the heart of the town. Shallow waters and a gentle entry make it ideal for families with children. Along the shore, rows of old houses, restaurants and cafés create a lively atmosphere on summer evenings, while the view of the islets and fortress adds extra charm to swimming.
Just 500 metres south of Petrovac, tucked in a bay between two capes, this heavenly little cove delights with fine golden-yellow sand and a shallow turquoise bottom. Surrounded by a forest of cypresses and pines, Lučice offers unspoilt nature without noise or crowds – ideal for diving and snorkelling. A shaded footpath leads down, or you can drive and park right above the beach.
The Venetian fortress from the 15th century dominates the harbour and town, and today is one of Petrovac‘s main symbols. Built when the Venetians controlled the coast, it served as a defensive stronghold and warehouse. A few stone steps take you to the top in about ten minutes, where a panoramic view opens up over both islets, Lučice Bay and the entire bay as far as Sveti Stefan. Admission is free.
Hidden in a pine forest above the church of St. Elijah, the remains of a floor mosaic from the Roman period testify to continuous settlement here since ancient times. The uphill path to the site has no signposts, so hiring a local guide is recommended. This location is not a typical tourist attraction, making it especially interesting for lovers of history and archaeology.
Just a few hundred metres from the shore, two small rocky islets are visible – a recognizable visual motif of the town. Although uninhabited, they can be reached by kayak or pedalo for those seeking a more active water holiday. The islets are a perfect backdrop for photography, especially at sunset when they, together with the fortress, create a unique and memorable scene.

budva.travelBeaches are free to access 24 hours a day; sunbeds and umbrellas are rented from 08:00 to 19:00 during the summer season. The fortress is open all day, best visited before noon or at sunset.
Access to Petrovac and Lučice beaches is free. Sunbeds and umbrellas are charged (around €10 for a pair). Entrance to the fortress is free.
Public parking in Petrovac is limited, the seasonal rate is around €2 per hour. Free parking can be found a bit further from the center, along the main road.
The central beach and promenade are partially accessible to wheelchair users; Lučice beach has several steps and a path with a stone surface, so access is difficult.
