Septembarski dani (September Days) is Nikšić's month-long celebration of its Municipality Day, a tradition stretching back roughly eight decades. Through the whole of September — around 110 programmes in 2025 — Montenegro's second city fills with culture, sport and street life.
The climax comes on 18 September, Municipality Day, with the ceremonial presentation of the Liberation Award and a free concert on Trg slobode — in 2025 headlined by Marina Visković and Har. Around it unfolds a dense calendar: an autumn book fair, the art colony "Ilija Šobajić" hosted at King Nikola's Palace, sports events, and embedded festivals of their own — the Dani meda honey days and the Čorbijada fish-soup contest.
September Days shows Nikšić at its most self-confident: an industrial city with a deep cultural streak, celebrating itself over four full weeks. Visitors can drop in on almost any September date and find something happening on the main square or in the palace.
The vast majority of events are free of charge.
