Bjelasica Trail is the biggest trail running event on the Bjelasica massif, raced each August from Kolašin across the mountain and through Biogradska gora National Park — home to one of Europe's last primeval forests. The 2025 edition was held on 9 and 10 August.
The flagship Red course is a proper mountain ultra: 62 kilometres with 3,300 metres of climbing across Bjelasica's ridges and pastures. Below it sit the 45-kilometre Green course, plus 23 and 12-kilometre races that open the weekend to strong recreational runners, and a kids' race that gets the youngest onto the trails. The main distances all carry ITRA points, drawing runners chasing qualifying credentials as well as scenery.
And the scenery earns its billing. Courses pass Biogradsko jezero, the forest-ringed glacial lake at the heart of the national park, and the katun Vranjak, a traditional shepherd settlement on the high pastures — a route that compresses Bjelasica's best into a single race day.
