Dani sremuša — Wild Garlic Days — is Andrijevica's May celebration of srijemuša, the wild garlic (ramsons) that carpets the region's forests each spring and anchors a genuine local gastronomic tradition. The event is held at the Adventure Center "Mojan" beneath the Komovi mountains, organized with the support of the Komovi Nature Park and the local tourism organization.
Andrijevica is a small town on a green terrace above the Lim, facing the Komovi — bare granite pyramids that rise with almost architectural abruptness from the surrounding forests. In May the contrast is at its sharpest: grey summits over woods in first leaf, with the wild garlic thickest in the cool, shaded hollows.
The centrepiece is a cook-off: competitors prepare authentic dishes built around wild garlic, keeping alive recipes that highland households have made every spring for generations, when the first green leaves of srijemuša marked the end of winter's preserved-food diet. Visitors taste their way along the results.
KUD folklore ensembles from the surrounding towns — Berane and Andrijevica among them in recent editions — provide the soundtrack, and the setting does the rest — the Mojan center sits directly beneath the bare granite pyramids of the Komovi, one of Montenegro's most striking massifs, at their greenest in May.
Visitors can treat the day as a template for the season: taste the competition dishes, learn what srijemuša looks like in the wild, then walk it off on the Nature Park trails while the folklore programme carries on below. Spring under the Komovi is short and vivid — this festival lands squarely inside it.
The event takes place in May, when the wild garlic season peaks, and entry is free. It pairs perfectly with spring hiking in the Komovi Nature Park, whose trails start practically at the festival's door.
