A two-day public holiday commemorating two pivotal dates in Montenegrin history: the recognition of Montenegro as an independent state at the 1878 Berlin Congress, and the historic July 13, 1941 anti-fascist uprising against the Axis powers — the first mass popular uprising in occupied Europe during World War II.
The celebrations include official state ceremonies, cultural programs, concerts, and fireworks in cities across Montenegro.
