Vražje jezero — Jezerska plateau

Vražje jezero lies on the Jezersko-Drobnjačka plateau at 1,411 m altitude, measuring 630 m long and 186 m wide. Unlike most Durmitor lakes hidden in dense forests, this lake lies on completely open, grassy terrain surrounded by gentle hills — giving it a unique visual appeal. The water is dark blue in the centre, lighter towards the shore, and changes colour intensity throughout the day depending on the sun. Furthermore, of all 18 glacial lakes on Durmitor, Vražje jezero is the warmest in summer.

Riblje jezero and stećci

Less than a kilometre from Vražje jezero, along the same regional road, lies Riblje jezero — a small glacial lake surrounded by open pastures. To the left of the road, at the northern corner of the lake, sits an ancient cemetery locally known as the 'Greek cemetery', which holds interesting stećci — characteristic medieval tombstones typical of Montenegro and Bosnia. Both lakes together form a natural and historical ensemble and are ideal for a combined walk of one to one and a half hours.

Viewpoint above the lake

To the right of Vražje jezero there is a small elevation that can be easily climbed in a few minutes' walk. From this viewpoint, a panoramic view opens up over the entire surface of the lake, the surrounding grassy slopes of the Jezerska plateau, and the beauty of the open Durmitor landscape. This is the most popular spot for photographing the lake — the dark blue colour of the water and the contrast with the green pastures are most vivid between 12:00 and 14:00. The viewpoint is accessible to all categories of visitors without any special equipment.
