Northern Montenegro

Overview

Northern Montenegro is a land of extremes — the highest Balkan town, one of the deepest canyons on the planet and primeval forests over 500 years old. Twelve municipalities, three national parks and countless mountain peaks make this region the most diverse active holiday destination in the country. Here, tourism is not about beaches and nightlife — it is about nature in its purest form.

Montenegro's largest region is home to Durmitor, Biogradska Gora and Prokletije — a paradise for hikers, skiers and lovers of unspoiled nature.
