Le climat

Šavnik is a small town set among the high mountains of central Montenegro, at the meeting point of three rivers. Summers are cool and pleasant, with July highs around 28°C and fresh nights, a relief from the coastal heat. Long summer days deliver over 13 hours of sunshine.

Winters are cold and snowy, with January highs around 5°C and lows near −3°C. The remote, mountainous setting keeps the air crisp and clean, and snow lies deep in the surrounding hills through the cold season.

Que emporter

Bring warm layers and a waterproof jacket even in summer, as mountain evenings turn cool. Sturdy walking shoes help on the trails, and winter needs a heavy coat, hat, gloves and snow boots for the cold, snowy weather.
