Perast sits on the sheltered Boka bay, its baroque waterfront framed by steep mountains. Summers are warm and Mediterranean, with July and August highs around 31°C and the sea warming from 23°C in June to a peak of 26°C in August. Long summer days bring almost 14 hours of sunshine.
The enclosing mountains make the bay one of the wettest parts of the coast in the cool season, with around 16 rainy days in November. Winters stay mild, though, with January highs near 11°C, keeping the small stone town gentle year-round.

July and August are warmest and busiest; June and September offer the same warm water more peacefully. May and October suit sightseeing the baroque waterfront in mild, quiet weather.
