Kamenovo Beach

A pebble beach between Bečići and Pržno, Blue Flag certified since 2016.

Overview

Kamenovo Beach is situated between the settlements of Rafailovići and Pržno, approximately 5.5 km from Budva, in a sheltered cove along the Budva Riviera. The beach covers an area of around 10,500 square metres, with a shoreline of approximately 330 metres. Its pebbly-sandy bottom and gradual entry into the sea make it suitable for families with children, while the morning turquoise water attracts divers and water sports enthusiasts. Since 2016, the beach has held the Blue Flag designation — an international mark of water quality and service standards. The south-easterly orientation of the cove ensures sunshine almost throughout the entire day, and behind the beach stretches Mediterranean vegetation that provides natural shade.

A cove with turquoise water and cliffs

Kamenovo Beach is set in a sheltered cove between limestone cliffs of Rafailovići and Pržno, which protects it from the wind and ensures exceptionally calm water even when open shorelines are rough. Behind the beach stretches Mediterranean vegetation — olive trees and various greenery whose root systems filter the underground waters flowing towards the sea, directly contributing to the distinctive turquoise colour. The combination of a pebbly-sandy bottom and the sunny position of the cove gives the water a Caribbean blue tone that defines this place. From the south-eastern edge of the beach, Sveti Nikola island is also visible — a nature reserve and protected area visible from the shore.

Pedestrian tunnel towards Rafailovići

One of the most interesting access routes to Kamenovo is the pedestrian tunnel carved into the limestone rock connecting the beach with the settlement of Rafailovići. The tunnel is not merely a practical passageway — it is a recognisable feature of this part of the riviera and a favourite spot for photography. At the tunnel's exit, the view opens directly towards the beach and cove, surprising visitors arriving on foot with an immediate panorama of the sea and cliffs. The walking path continues towards Bečići and Budva (approximately 6 km in total), making Kamenovo the starting or finishing point of a coastal walk along the Budva Riviera.

Kamenovo restaurant and beach bar

Right on the beach is the Kamenovo restaurant and beach bar, the only hospitality establishment directly on the cove's shoreline. The restaurant operates during the summer season and offers Mediterranean cuisine — grilled squid, fresh fish and pizza — with lunch for two including drinks costing around €30. The beach bar runs a music programme that gradually builds throughout the day, and occasional DJ sets are organised during the season. Sun loungers are ordered via QR codes placed on each lounger, allowing food and drinks to be ordered directly to the sunbed without a trip to the bar. The establishment has received positive reviews on TripAdvisor for food and service quality.

Free beach zone — northern section

Unlike most organised beaches on the Budva Riviera, Kamenovo retains a public, free-of-charge section on the northern side of the shore. Visitors who bring their own towel and parasol can use this area at no cost, which is rare on such well-maintained Montenegrin beaches. The free zone is particularly valued in the early morning hours before service staff arrive and off-season from May and September, when the entire beach is accessible without charge. This combination of an organised beach-club segment and a free zone makes Kamenovo accessible to different types of visitors — from families on a limited budget to those seeking premium front-row service by the sea.
