A pebble cove between Ulcinj and Utjeha, 600m of shoreline
Kruče Beach is located on the coast between Ulcinj and the small village of Utjeha, about 8 km northwest of Ulcinj's centre. It stretches approximately 600 metres, covers 6,000 m², and can accommodate up to 1,200 swimmers. The surface is predominantly pebble and stone — water shoes are recommended — while the water is crystal clear and sheltered from waves. From the beach, there is a direct view of the marine protected area of Stari Ulcinj island, which is accessible by kayak. This is a quiet, low-commercialised destination, ideal for those seeking peace and nature away from the crowds of Velika Plaža.

Highlights

Directly opposite Kruče Beach lies Stari Ulcinj island — a marine protected area known for its rich underwater world and beautiful rocky formations. The island can be reached by kayak in 20–30 minutes or by swimming. This is one of the few protected marine zones on the Montenegrin coast, where snorkelling reveals diverse sea species in clear, unpolluted water.

Located in the immediate vicinity of Kruče, Kristalna Plaža (known on Google Maps as 'Cristal Beach') is one of the least accessible and least visited beaches on the Montenegrin coast. A steep forest trail leads to it by land, but the most scenic approach is by kayak from Hladna Uvala. This is a beach that even many locals don't know about, rewarding visitors with silence and crystal-clear water free of crowds.

Right next to Kruče is Hladna Uvala (Utjeha) — a small fishing village with a handful of konobas and cafés right on the waterfront. Kayaks for trips to Kristalna Plaža and Stari Ulcinj island are rented here. Konoba Vongola offers seafood in a rustic setting with a direct sea view, while Dragovoja's shop nearby sells homemade olive oil and olive-themed souvenirs — a characteristic product of this area.

Due to its westward orientation, Kruče Beach offers a direct view of the sunset over the Adriatic — with no buildings blocking the horizon. Sunset Bar, the only bar on the beach itself, is positioned so that guests can watch the sunset over a drink. This is one of the features that makes Kruče particularly recommended for couples and photographers looking for a peaceful setting for evening hours on the coast.
