Just 5 km from Kumbor lies Herceg Novi, a city often described as one of the most beautiful in the Balkans, with 6 centuries of history, the monumental fortresses of Forte Mare and Kanli Kula, and a rich Mediterranean flora. The city records 250+ sunny days per year and boasts a 6 km-long promenade — Pet Danica — connecting Igalo and Meljine. From the fortress walls, one can enjoy views of the entire bay and a mountain peak of 1,894 m — the highest peak of the Coastal Dinarides.
From Kumbor and nearby ports, popular boat excursions are available to the Blue Cave — a natural sea cave with a distinctive water reflection that can only be visited by boat or by diving. On the same excursion, it is also possible to visit Mamula fortress, an Austro-Hungarian fortification built on an island in the middle of the sea, as well as Žanjica beach on the Luštica peninsula — one of the cleanest and most accessible wild beaches in the region. Excursions last an average of 4–6 hours and depart throughout the entire summer season.
