Overview

Petrovac is a Mediterranean coastal town on the Budva Riviera, located 19 km from Budva and 9 km from Sveti Stefan. The town beach, approximately 600 metres long, is distinguished by its reddish sand and a well-maintained promenade running directly along the shore. Nearby are the Lučice cove with its golden-yellow sand and shallow waters, and Buljarica beach — the longest on the Budva Riviera (2,250 m). Petrovac Town Beach

Petrovac's town beach stretches approximately 600 metres alongside a well-maintained promenade lined with seaside cafés and restaurants. The reddish-coloured sand gives it a distinctive Mediterranean look, and the gently sloping shoreline makes it accessible for swimmers of all ages. Houses with apartments are located directly along the promenade, making accommodation near the beach easily available. Two small rocky islets offshore complete the scenery and are popular destinations for experienced swimmers.

Lučice Cove

Lučice cove is located 500 metres south of Petrovac, nestled between two headlands and surrounded by a forest of cypress and pine trees. The beach is sandy with a shallow seabed, and the fine golden-yellow sand makes it one of the most visually attractive beaches on this stretch of the riviera. The shallow sea and sheltered cove are especially well-suited for children. Lučice is reached by a short walk along the promenade from the centre of Petrovac, with no need for a car.

Fortress Above Petrovac Harbour

The fortress dominates Petrovac's harbour and is visible from every part of the shore. It offers views over the town beach, the cove, the harbour, and the two islets in front of the town. A historic structure that has preserved Petrovac's Mediterranean character, the fortress is a recognisable visual landmark that distinguishes Petrovac from other towns on the Budva Riviera. A visit at dusk, when the sun sets behind the hills, offers the best conditions for taking in the coastal panorama.

Buljarica Beach

Buljarica is the longest beach on the Budva Riviera, stretching 2,250 metres and covering 72,850 m², located just 2 km from Petrovac towards Bar. The sand is yellow-white and interspersed with fine pebbles, and the sheer size of the beach means there is always enough space even at the peak of the season. Due to its size and relatively easy access from the main road, Buljarica is ideal for those who want to combine a stay in Petrovac with a trip to a longer and quieter beach.

Drobni Pijesak — Wild Cove

Drobni Pijesak beach is located between Budva and Petrovac and is accessible via a walking trail that leads down to the shore with panoramic views of the sea. Although its name suggests fine sand, the beach is actually made up of rounded pebbles and stones, with natural pools forming in the shallows that are particularly appreciated by families with children. Due to its limited accessibility, the beach is rarely crowded, and almost always offers a quieter and more peaceful experience than town beaches. The walking trail itself provides attractive views of the Montenegrin coast.
