Sandy bay with pine forest

Plavi Horizonti beach stretches across approximately 300 metres of fine sand in a fully sheltered bay, surrounded by a dense pine forest that descends almost to the water's edge. Along the fringes of the beach, the tree canopies provide natural shade, making this one of the rare beaches on the Montenegrin coast where an umbrella is not needed in certain spots. The sandy seabed deepens gradually, and the shallow water extends up to 100 metres from the shore — exceptionally suitable for children and non-swimmers. The beach is a long-standing recipient of the international Blue Flag certificate for water quality and environmental standards.

Rocks and underwater world along the bay edges

On both sides of the sandy section of the beach, rocks flank the bay and form natural vantage points towards the open sea. These rocks are a favourite destination for snorkelling and diving — the water is crystal clear, and beneath the surface live corals, various species of fish, and sea urchins that often go unnoticed by visitors without equipment. Concrete paths along the periphery of the bay lead to smaller secluded coves, ideal for jumping into the sea from the rocks or for peaceful sunbathing away from the crowds. Along the rocks on the sides of the bay, the sea reaches greater depths more quickly than in the central part of the beach, making it appealing for more experienced swimmers and divers.

Surrounding coves of the Luštica Peninsula

Plavi Horizonti serves as a starting point for exploring the rest of the Luštica Peninsula, one of the most unspoiled coastal areas of Montenegro. Continuing along the coast leads to Žanjic beach with A-category water quality, and to the cove of Arza beside the ruins of an Ottoman fortress. At the very tip of the peninsula, views open up over the entrance to the Bay of Kotor and the open Adriatic Sea. The entire tour around Luštica can be completed in a single day's drive, with signs pointing to new coves at every turn. The proximity of Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay means that excellent dining options are also available in the immediate vicinity.

Lifeguards are on duty at the beach and floating markers clearly demarcate the swimming zone.
Parking right next to the beach costs €5 per day. The alternative uphill car park, about 200 metres from the entrance, costs €2–3 per day, and it is approximately a 10-minute walk from there to the shore. In season, it is advisable to arrive before 10 am as spaces fill up quickly.
