A sandy-pebble cove near Budva, surrounded by protected olive groves

Bathing season: June — September
Overview

Pržno Beach stretches from Cape Pržno to Cape Miločer, surrounded by a typical coastal fishing village and olive groves protected by the state as a nature reserve. It is approximately 350 metres long, a mix of sand and pebbles, with a gently sloping entry into the sea suitable for swimmers of all ages. The Maestral Resort & Casino hotel occupies most of the shoreline, while the public section fills up quickly during the summer season. Pržno Beach — a sheltered cove

The beach stretches from Cape Pržno to Cape Miločer over approximately 350 metres, set in a semi-circular cove surrounded by limestone ridges that protect it from open Adriatic waves. The surface is a mix of sand and pebbles with a gently sloping entry into the sea — no sudden drops in depth. The entire area has been designated a protected nature reserve due to the exceptionally valuable olive groves that surround the beach hinterland and village. The beach is equipped with showers, sun loungers and a café-restaurant, and a lifeguard service operates throughout the bathing season.

Miločer Park and the Royal Road

Directly adjacent to Pržno lies Miločer Park, the former summer residence of the Karađorđević royal family, built in 1934 and surrounded by Mediterranean and exotic vegetation — most notably century-old cedar trees. Running through the park is the Royal Miločer Road, a walking path shaded by pines and cedars that connects Pržno directly with Sveti Stefan in a short walk of 15–20 minutes. The trail is popular for morning walks and guided excursions, and also offers views of Queen's Beach within the Aman Sveti Stefan resort.

Sveti Stefan Island — viewpoint

From the edge of Pržno and from the walking path through Miločer Park, there are views of Sveti Stefan island, one of the most recognisable locations in Montenegro and the entire Balkans. The island has been transformed into the exclusive Aman Sveti Stefan hotel resort, and photographing it from the viewpoints above Pržno and Miločer provides the classic framing with the entire island in shot. Pržno is a practical and accessible base for visiting this part of the riviera — Sveti Stefan is just 15–20 minutes away on foot through the park.

Konobas and waterfront gastronomy

Several konobas and restaurants in Pržno are located directly along the shore or above the sea with terraces overlooking the cove. The gastronomic offering is centred on fresh fish and seafood — prawns, shellfish, octopus and fish grilled over stone are the specialities. Restaurants in Pržno are somewhat more expensive than in Budva, but they reflect local hospitality and an authentic coastal atmosphere. In the early evening, once the beach empties, the konoba terraces become a favourite gathering spot for both local and international guests.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — the cove is sheltered by ridges that reduce waves, and the sea entry is gently sloping with no sudden drops in depth, making it suitable for children. The beach offers basic facilities, and several nearby restaurants add to the practicality for families.
The public section of the beach is free, but it is small and fills up quickly. The Maestral hotel occupies the majority of the beach, and sun lounger prices for outside guests can reach €180–200 per set at the peak of the season. An alternative is to arrive early in the morning at the free public section.
Local minibus taxis run between Budva and Pržno every 15 minutes, with a fare of around €1. Driving takes around 10 minutes along the Adriatic Highway heading south. Parking in the village is limited, so the minibus is the more practical option during the season.
Kamenovo Beach is accessible on foot (10–15 minutes heading north) and Sveti Stefan is 15–20 minutes through Miločer Park heading south. Organised boat trips head to Sveti Nikola island, and Pro Diving Montenegro offers diving. Budva with its Old Town is 10 minutes away by car.
June and September offer a warm sea with considerably fewer crowds than July and August. Even in July and August, the morning hours until 9:00 are calm — the public section of the beach fills up by midday.
