Every year from 10 to 20 July, Herceg Novi hosts Dani muzike — Music Days — an international classical music festival that spreads across the town's halls, churches and open-air venues for ten midsummer evenings.
The programme brings together domestic and international soloists and chamber ensembles, moving night by night between very different acoustics: a concert hall one evening, a stone church the next, an open-air stage under the July sky after that. The variety of settings is part of the festival's signature — Herceg Novi's layered old town becomes the instrument.
A dedicated programme for young musicians runs within the festival, giving emerging performers a stage alongside established names and rooting the event in music education as much as performance.
Concerts are mixed in access but mostly free, which makes Dani muzike one of the easiest high-culture experiences to fold into a coastal holiday. Check the daily schedule locally, pick a venue that intrigues you, and let a chamber concert close out a beach day.
