About the event

The Fish and Wine Feast — Fešta od ribe i vina — is a pair of classic village fisherman's feasts on the Tivat side of the bay: one in Lepetane in late July and one in Krašići on the first Saturday of August. Together they bookend the height of summer with the Boka's oldest formula for a good night.

The recipe is simple and irresistible: grilled fish and mussels straight off the fire, local wine poured freely, and long tables by the water. Smoke drifts over the waterfront, plates travel hand to hand, and the evening organises itself the way village feasts have for generations — no programme needed beyond fire, fish and company.

The two settings each have their own character. Lepetane sits at the Verige strait, where the ferry crosses the bay's narrowest point, so the feast unfolds beside the slow procession of boats through the channel. Krašići faces Tivat across the water on the Luštica side, its lights doubling in the still evening sea. Both are small places that swell to many times their size for one night.

Klapa singers and folk musicians play into the night, and the feasting turns into dancing as the hours pass. These are events made by locals for locals, which is exactly why they are worth seeking out — the summer bay as its own communities enjoy it, not a show staged for visitors.

Feasts like these grew out of the fishing life itself: the shared catch, the shared table, the village celebrating the sea that feeds it. Joining one is the quickest way to understand how the Boka's shore villages actually live.

Entry is free — you pay only for what you eat and drink. Come hungry, come early for a table by the water, and expect the music to outlast you. With Lepetane in late July and Krašići on the first Saturday of August, a well-timed holiday can catch both.
