About
Camp Lad is located in the village of Boljevići, about a kilometer from Virpazar, in the area of Skadar Lake National Park. It spreads over about 2,000 square meters of private property owned by the Petranović family, with two spacious meadows, an orchard and a garden. Virpazar is within walking distance, yet the campsite preserves a quiet, rural character. It is open all year round.
Ash, willow and yew trees grow on the property, some of them over a century old, so a large part of the area is naturally shaded. Guests choose between spots in the shade, partial shade and more open plots, and the space suits campers, caravans and tents. There are hammocks and resting spots in the garden, and rental accommodation units are also available.
In the large orchard grow pears, apples, cherries, hazelnuts, plums, blackberries, figs, quinces, olives and grapevines, and in the vegetable garden tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, zucchini and other vegetables, along with aromatic herbs. Guests have access to electricity, Wi-Fi, toilets, hot-water showers, outdoor showers, a fully equipped shared kitchen, a dishwashing area, a barbecue and a relaxation zone. More than 90 percent of the facilities are handmade or made from repurposed materials, in the spirit of more sustainable camping, and the sanitary facilities are simple and rustic.
You can also eat at the campsite: simple homemade meals are prepared from fresh ingredients, including vegetables from the property, and the offer changes depending on what is available. Cold drinks are also available.
Kayaks are rented directly at the campsite and no previous experience is needed – the hosts provide equipment and route advice, including channels overgrown with water lilies. A path passes by the property towards the forest and the Crmnica River, the hosts organize hiking and wine tours and help with boat tours on the lake. More than 50 bird species can be seen in the surroundings, including pelicans, storks, herons and ibises, and above Virpazar is the Besac Fortress.
Activities in the area: cycling, mountain trails, fishing and boat rides.
