The Mimosa Festival is a carnival, entertainment and popular celebration that every February marks the flowering of mimosa in Herceg Novi.
The festival was founded in 1969 by the Tourist Association of Boka and the Municipality of Herceg Novi, and has been held every year since, making it one of the oldest and most significant tourist events in the region.
This page is dedicated to the 2027 edition. The exact date has not yet been officially announced — the organisers (Municipality of Herceg Novi, Tourist Organisation of Herceg Novi and JUK Herceg Fest) usually publish the programme and dates in January before the festival itself, on the websites hercegfest.me and praznikmimoze.me. The previous, 57th edition of the festival in 2026 ran from 13 to 28 February, under the slogan “While Everything Sleeps, the Mimosa Awakens”, with over 50 programmes.
Programme
The 2027 programme has not yet been published. Last year, in 2026, the offer included a ceremonial parade with the City Band and majorettes, the Festival of Mimosa, Fish and Wine along the riviera, a flower exhibition, masquerade balls, gastronomic competitions, sports programmes and the International Carnival, along with concerts by regional performers. Where it is held and how to get there
Events are spread along the entire Herceg Novi riviera — in the centre of Herceg Novi, on the plateau in Igalo, as well as in the settlements of Đenović and Baošići. Herceg Novi has a bus station with regular services, and the nearest airports are Tivat (about 20 km) and Dubrovnik-Čilipi in Croatia (about 30 km), while Podgorica Airport is about 133 km away. To arrive by car from the direction of Kotor and Tivat, the Lepetane–Kamenari ferry is also used, which shortens the route around the bay.
Why visit
The Mimosa Festival is an opportunity to experience Herceg Novi in the off-season period, when the town celebrates the arrival of spring with a rich programme of processions, music, food and wine in the open air, while the rest of the coast is still quiet.
