Night of Petrovac (Petrovacka Noc)

Petrovačka noć — Petrovac Night — is the biggest summer feast of Petrovac, organized by the Tourism Organization of Budva on the town's seafront. It traditionally falls on the last weekend of August; the 2026 edition is expected on 28–29 August, with the final dates still to be confirmed.

Petrovac itself is a small, sheltered resort — a curve of beach backed by pines, a compact promenade and a little stone fortress by the harbour — and for most of the summer it trades on calm rather than spectacle. Petrovačka noć is the exception the town builds its summer around: the one night when small, quiet Petrovac decides to out-celebrate the whole riviera.

The formula is generous and unchanging: free fish and wine served along the seafront, concerts running along the promenade until late into the night, and fireworks to crown the evening. Visitors simply join the flow — a plate of fish here, a glass of wine there, a band playing further down the promenade, and the crowd thickening as the night deepens.

For one night, the small resort becomes the liveliest spot on this stretch of coast — locals, summer guests and visitors from along the riviera crowd the promenade to eat, drink and dance. It is the way a Montenegrin coastal town says goodbye to the peak of summer, and Petrovac does it on a bigger scale than anywhere nearby.

The timing is part of the meaning: the last weekend of August is the hinge of the coastal year, when the high season begins to ebb — and the feast sends it off properly, with the fireworks over the bay as the closing image of the Petrovac summer.
