Highlights

One of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic, known according to historical sources for more than two and a half thousand years as the 'city of Illyria'. Surrounded by mighty ramparts, the Old Town preserves narrow cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and traces of the civilisations that shaped it — from the Illyrians, Greeks, and Romans to the Venetians. A walk along the city walls offers a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea and the harbour, while the Palm Square at the heart of the Old Town is surrounded by restaurants and cafés. An unmissable stop on any visit to the Budva Riviera.

Mogren Beach, located immediately beside Budva's Old Town, is considered one of the most prestigious beaches on the southern Adriatic thanks to its fine sandy shores, clear water, and secluded setting. It consists of two beaches connected by a tunnel carved into the rock, reached via a concrete path along the cliff face that itself offers spectacular sea views. Sheltered from the wind by the surrounding rocks, Mogren is ideal for swimming and relaxation, and its smaller crowds compared to the town beaches make it a favourite among those in the know.

Sveti Stefan is one of the most exclusive resorts in the Mediterranean, created by adapting stone houses on an island built more than five centuries ago to protect the population of the surrounding villages. The island is connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway and is one of Montenegro's most recognisable visual symbols. Located just 15 minutes by bus from the centre of Budva, Sveti Stefan can be admired from the shore, while the surrounding beaches and the fishing village of Pržno make this destination perfect for a day trip.

Budva Marina, with GPS coordinates 42°16'49.0"N 18°50'18.6"E, is the central hub of nautical tourism on the Budva Riviera. In addition to berths for yachts and boats, the marina is the departure point for boat rentals and organised coastal excursions. Slovenska Beach beside the marina offers the widest range of water activities on the riviera — parasailing, diving, water skiing, flyboarding, and rides on a tourist submarine. This is a must-visit stop for all visitors who want to experience the Adriatic Sea in an active way.

In the village of Ivanovići, near Budva, stands an olive tree approximately 2,000 years old, which — alongside the olive tree in Bar — is considered one of the oldest on the entire Adriatic. Its girth at the root collar measures an impressive 12.5 metres, making it a natural monument of exceptional value. A visit to this living witness of ancient times is a unique experience that combines nature and history, and its location near Budva makes it easily accessible for a short trip from the city centre.
