Highlights

Galija Beach is instantly recognisable for its reddish rocks and pebbles that give it a visual identity quite different from the typical white beaches of the Adriatic. The name of the complex, Crvena Glavica, comes from the hill of red rock rising above the shoreline. Mediterranean vegetation, forests and cliffs in the hinterland create a naturally sheltered setting that separates the beach from the crowds of the main tourist centres. The swimming area is divided into an organised zone with beach furniture and a free section of shore without sunbeds, offering visitors a choice of how to spend their time.

Within the beach complex stands a hospitality venue featuring a 161 m² terrace directly on the waterfront, a beach bar, kitchen and storage facilities. The menu is dominated by fresh seafood prepared according to Mediterranean recipes, alongside an extensive drinks selection including premium champagnes. During the summer the beach club hosts DJ events that draw visitors looking for a blend of relaxation and entertainment. All pedestrian surfaces around the venue are paved with indigenous stone from a local quarry.

Just around 2 km from Galija Beach lies Sveti Stefan, one of the most iconic destinations on the Montenegrin coast, which has long attracted celebrated figures such as Orson Welles, Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. The peninsula with its stunning beaches offers a waterfront promenade, bars and restaurants overlooking the sea, while the tourist office in Sveti Stefan provides information on paragliding, boat excursions and water equipment rental. Combining a day at Galija Beach with an evening stroll along Sveti Stefan makes for an ideal one-day itinerary.

Beyond the organised section that makes up Galija, the Crvena Glavica complex encompasses a further six smaller beaches with a combined length of around 500 metres. Some of these beaches are accessible exclusively by boat or by swimming, which keeps them naturally protected from excessive tourism. The beaches vary — sandy and pebbly — with forest or rocks as a backdrop, and they are occasionally used by nudists. This wilder side of Crvena Glavica offers a completely different experience from the organised beach club atmosphere.
