About the event

The NLB Podgorica Millennium Run is the capital's big road-running day, confirmed for 8 November 2026 (podgorica.run). The race programme covers the full marathon, the half marathon, a 10K and a 5K, with courses that cross the Millennium Bridge — the landmark that gives the event its name.

The Millennium Bridge is the natural centrepiece. Podgorica's landmark span over the Morača river gives the event its name and its signature image — the field streaming across the bridge — and the courses thread the capital's streets around it. For one November morning the city belongs to runners rather than traffic.

With four distances on offer, the day belongs as much to recreational runners tackling the 5K as to marathoners chasing times. Whole families and running clubs can pick their own challenge on the same course network — one of the few days in the Montenegrin sporting year built for every level at once.

The run has grown into a genuinely international affair: the 2025 edition drew runners from around fifty countries, and the start-line mix of languages has become part of the event's character. Early November is a fine season for running in Podgorica — cool air, mild light and a city refreshed after the summer heat — conditions that suit fast times and first-timers alike.

For spectators, the best of it is free — pick a spot near the Millennium Bridge and watch the field stream across, from the leading marathoners to the recreational field behind them. The bridge crossings are the day's photographic moment.

The NLB Podgorica Millennium Run takes place on 8 November 2026 in Podgorica, with details at podgorica.run. Runners pay an entry fee; watching anywhere along the course is free.
