Raspberry Days (Dani maline)

Dani maline — Raspberry Days — is Andrijevica's July harvest fair, held when the raspberry crop ripens across the Polimlje, the valley of the Lim river where the berry has become the region's signature crop. For the small mountain town, it is the agricultural high point of the summer.

Raspberry growing suits the Polimlje perfectly: cool nights, clean mountain water and steep family smallholdings that are too small for industrial farming but ideal for fruit that must be picked by hand. The July fair is the valley's annual public celebration of that quiet success.

Growers from across the valley bring their fresh crop into the town centre, setting out crates of just-picked raspberries for tasting and direct sale. Buying fruit hours off the cane, straight from the family that grew it, is the fair's whole point — and the difference from supermarket berries is not subtle.

A cultural programme runs alongside the stalls, giving the fair the feel of a small-town celebration rather than a mere market.
