Tivat lies on a sheltered stretch of the Boka bay, giving it a warm, settled Mediterranean climate. July highs reach around 31°C, while the sea warms steadily from 23°C in June to a peak of 26°C in August. Midsummer days are long and bright, with almost 14 hours of sunshine.
Protected by the surrounding mountains, the bay stays mild in winter, with January highs near 12°C. The flip side is a wet cool season, with 14–15 rainy days a month from November through January. Spring and autumn are mild and green, offering some of the most comfortable sightseeing weather of the year.

The best beach weather runs from June to September, when the sea sits between 23°C and 26°C and the sun shines for 12–14 hours a day. July and August are warmest; June and September stay warm with fewer people. May and October are ideal for exploring the marina, waterfront and nearby islands in comfort.
Pack swimwear, sandals and sun cream for the summer, with a light layer for warm evenings by the water. Spring and autumn need a light jacket, and winter calls for a warm coat and umbrella for the frequent rain.
