Žabljak is the highest urban settlement in the Balkans, situated at 1,450 m above sea level in the heart of Durmitor National Park. Bjelasica has mountain peaks above 2,000 m that are ideal for ski touring throughout the entire winter, and snow at these altitudes often remains until April.

The ski season runs from December to March. At higher altitudes, such as Bjelasica above 2,000 m, snow can linger until April.
Kolašin is approximately 75 km from Podgorica and easily accessible via the motorway. Žabljak is approximately 150 km from Podgorica, reached via a regional road through Nikšić. For Plav, the journey from Podgorica takes around 2.5 hours along a regional road through Andrijevica.
