The best beach weather runs from June to September, when the sea sits between 23°C and 26°C under long sunny days. July and August are warmest and liveliest, while June and September offer the same warm water more peacefully. Spring and autumn suit gentle coastal walks in mild, uncrowded conditions.
Pack swimwear, sun cream and light clothing for the summer heat, with a cover-up for warm evenings. Bring a light jacket for spring and autumn, and a warm coat with an umbrella if visiting during the wetter winter months.
