The climate

Budva enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate and is the sunny heart of the Montenegrin coast. Midsummer highs settle around 31°C in July and August, cooled by sea breezes, while the water warms from 23°C in June to a peak of 26°C in August. Peak summer days carry almost 14 hours of sunshine.

Spring can be surprisingly wet, with 15–16 rainy days in April and May, before summer turns dry and settled. Winters are mild and green, with January highs around 12°C, making the old town pleasant to wander even out of season.

Beach-goers should aim for June to September, when the sea sits between 23°C and 26°C and sunshine is abundant.
