The climate

Ulcinj is Montenegro's southernmost town and one of its sunniest and driest, a genuinely Mediterranean corner near the Albanian border. July highs reach around 31°C, with only two rainy days that month, and the long sandy Velika Plaža catches sea breezes. The water warms to a peak of 26°C in August.

Sunshine is exceptional, close to 14 hours a day in July, and the swimming season is long. Winters are mild, with January highs near 11°C, and even the cool season keeps more bright, dry days than the coast further north.
