A Sandy Shoreline Stretching 13 Kilometres

Velika Plaža is the longest sandy beach on the Montenegrin coast, extending from Port Milena in the north to the mouth of the Bojana River in the south. Ada Bojana and the Mouth of the Bojana River

At the very southern end of Velika Plaža, the Bojana River splits into two channels and forms a triangular sandy island known as Ada Bojana, which marks the border between Montenegro and Albania. The island offers a more relaxed pace, warmer river water suitable for swimming and kayaking, and restaurants where fish and shellfish are grilled on open fires immediately after being caught. Ada Bojana is also home to the only nudist camp in Montenegro, which has been attracting domestic and international visitors for decades in search of privacy and a connection with nature. Organised zones with sun loungers and parasols, showers, changing cabins, and sports equipment rental shops make it one of the most fully equipped locations along the entire beach. Getting Here

By Car
Ulcinj is accessible via the E80 motorway from Podgorica (approximately 90 km, about one hour's drive). From Bar, take the coastal highway southward; the journey takes around 30 minutes. Access points to the beach exist at multiple locations along the entire shoreline, and each beach bar has its own car park.
By Bus
Regular bus services connect Ulcinj with Podgorica, Bar, and Budva. The bus station in Ulcinj is a few kilometres from the beach, from where you can reach it by taxi or local transport. The frequency of services is higher during the summer season.
By Plane
The nearest airport is Podgorica Airport (TGD), approximately 90 km away. Tivat Airport (TIV) is approximately 120 km away. Taxi transfers and car hire are available from both airports for the journey to Ulcinj.

Head to the beach early in the morning to easily find the ideal spot and park your vehicle. In the morning the sea is at its calmest and the sand is not yet hot – perfect for a long swim in the shallow turquoise sea or a walk along the shore. Around the third kilometer from the center toward Ada Bojana is the MCM beach, a long-standing Blue Flag holder, with a café-restaurant, children's playground and free WiFi – a great place for breakfast or coffee. The afternoon is the right time for kitesurfing or renting sports equipment at one of the centers along the shore. Those who prefer peace and quiet can find a free zone between the bars and spend the afternoon in silence to the sound of the waves. In the early evening, head toward the southern part of the beach to catch the sunset at the point where the Bojana flows into the sea – a sight you won't forget. Dinner at one of the restaurants on the Bojana river with fresh grilled fish rounds off a perfect day.
