The Monastery Đurđevi stupovi, built in the mid-13th century, is one of the most beautiful and significant preserved examples of medieval architecture in Montenegro. The monastery is the oldest and most important preserved cultural and historical monument of the entire Berane region and is a must-visit destination for all who come to this part of Montenegro. A visit to the monastery can easily be combined with a trip to Pešića Lake within a single day.

The ski centre Lokve on the mountain Cmiljevica is only 15 minutes' drive from Berane and offers skiing and snowboarding during the winter season. The centre is ideal for visitors who combine winter and summer activities in this part of Montenegro. Its proximity to Berane makes it an easily accessible day-trip destination, and the surrounding mountain terrain is equally attractive outside the ski season for hiking and spending time in nature.

The climbing site Sjelača is located just 15 minutes' drive from Berane, next to the new road towards the village of Lubnice and the mountain of Jelovica. This easily accessible climbing site offers around thirty top-rope and sport routes and attracts climbers of all levels. The road leads directly to the base of the rock face, making it one of the most accessible climbing spots in northern Montenegro. The optimal time to visit is summer, due to the shade that prevails throughout most of the day at this site.
