The starting point is Berane, from where you drive to the foot of Bjelasica mountain. From there, a hiking trail lasting around one to one and a half hours leads to the lake. Private transport is recommended as there are no direct public transport lines to the lake.
The lake is most accessible from June to September, when the trails are passable and weather conditions are favourable. In winter and early spring, trails may be closed due to snow, so it is advisable to check trail conditions before setting off.
Yes, access to Pešića Lake is free. There is no admission fee and no organised infrastructure at the lake itself, so it is recommended to bring your own food, water, and equipment.
Hiking boots with good grip are recommended, along with warm clothing (even in summer it can be cold on the mountain), a rain jacket, and sufficient water and food. There are no catering facilities along the trail.
