A leisurely coastal walk past fortresses, viewpoints, and the Bay of Kotor.
The 7.1 km trail runs from Igalo through Herceg Novi to Zelenika along the shore of the Bay of Kotor. It is easy, mostly on asphalt, and suitable for the whole family throughout almost the entire year.
The Pet Danica Promenade is one of the most beautiful coastal walkways in Montenegro. The trail starts in Igalo and leads towards Herceg Novi, passing directly alongside the fortresses of Forte Mare and Kanli Kula and through the very centre of the town. The ascent is gentle — 128 m in total — so the trail requires no special physical preparation.
Around the 2 km mark there is a viewpoint overlooking the bay, and not far from it is the Tinturija spring. On the section between km 3 and km 3.5, the trail reaches its highest point (93 m a.s.l.) and offers another viewpoint, ideal for a rest and photography. This section also has two drinking-water fountains.
After the descent, the trail continues towards Meljine and Zelenika, where it ends. The surface is mainly asphalt and concrete (72%), with shorter gravel and dirt sections. The trail is one-way, so it is advisable to arrange transport to the starting point or a return from Zelenika.
It is suitable for walkers of all ages, including older adults and families with children.
